Thus ends the Reaver Kickstarter. Though we missed our goal, the incredible support and encouragement we received has shown us the way forward and allowed me to come out of this without discouragement. Indeed, I've been greatly encouraged by the response to Reaver and I can tell you that this isn't the end.
So the question is—what comes next for Reaver? While I considered shortening the game to an “essentials” format and running it as a zine-game, I decided that would not be ideal. I'm proud of the game we've created and I feel that it needs to be in a beautiful hardcover. So, I'll restructure the Kickstarter and the project's funding needs and we'll be back. This may mean that I need to use more stock art than I'd like, or that I'll have to do more art myself, which I wanted to avoid. It may mean producing a smaller print run than I wanted, but that can all be worked around and will bring our initial funding goal down. In any case, my goal will continue to be bringing you a great game in an amazing format!
My initial thought is to return after the holiday and run the revamped KS then, likely with some modified reward levels and stretch goals. I hope that you will all return for the second round!
In the meantime, you can keep informed by visiting our homepage and signing up for our newsletter, joining our Discord server, and following RGG on Instagram and Twitter!
Once again, thank you all for supporting Reaver! We'll see you soon! ♥️
