A few weeks ago, Nerd's RPG Variety Cast featured an interview with Todd from D'Arcangel Productions who was hosting the Headless Halloween Game Jam on itch.io. I decided that I wanted to do something for it and, despite being really pressed on time, I was able to put together a scenario for Reaver and playable with the Quickstart rules.
The Doom of Ferghal is now available as PWYW over on my itch page. It is a themed scenario inspired by Irish folklore, Beowulf, and Karl Edward Wagner's Reflections for the Winter of My Soul. It includes four 4th-level characters (all members of a mercenary warband called the Spear-Hounds) and revolves around the appearance of a dúlachán---a headless rider believed to signal the imminent death of those who see it. The scenario includes some setting information concerning the Faedrian Ancestry, a lot of role-playing, and is something of a mini-sandbox in which the player's choices will greatly affect how the game plays out.
Because of the deadline, I wasn't able to finish the art/maps I want to do and I've yet to run it (its next on the list) so there may be some needed adjustments after playtesting, but you can take a look and try it for yourself!
I should also note, there are a host of prizes available to those participating in the game jam, including Darkness of the Demimonde, and I have requested to be removed from the prize-winners.
